Dimelo Linda!!! Welcome to episode 12 of season 5. In this episode the ladies chop it up with Angy Abreu from Dominican Writers. Angela (Angy) Abreu is the founder of Dominican Writers. Dominican Writers Association is a platform dedicated to supporting and promoting Dominican-American writers by offering the tools and resources to continue developing their craft with the means to self publish or traditionally publish within the US publishing industry. En el Salon, Angy is very candid about her frustration with the lack of diversity in the literary community. Finding that there were plenty of talented writers with interesting and unique stories to tell, yet not many were being considered marketable by the publishing houses; Angy decided to create a space where she and her team could walk writers through the process and help them publish. Angy passionately walks us through her journey and also delves into the personal side of things, like the events in her life that inspired her own book "I Have No Room for the Broken". As a single mom and working professional, Angy finds herself at the crossroads of love, relationship, parenting, and independence. Of course the ladies pepper the conversation with funny banter and their own experiences making it an interesting and entertaining conversation. So sit back and grab your cafecito cause this is a good one. The ladies are now recording with Riverside FM and if you'd like to watch instead of listening, head on over to YouTube and check out the video version of the podcast.
